Alexandrite Laser

What Is Alexandrite Laser Epilation?

One of the most reliable and effective ways to get rid of unwanted hair today is laser epilation. The most effective laser type in epilation is Alexandrite laser light with a wavelength of 755 nm.

The person’s hair color and skin type are the most important factors for laser epilation to be successful. It is easier to reach the result in people with light skin and dark hairs. However, it is possible to achieve successful results with careful applications in people with dark skin.

First, it should be decided whether the person is suitable for laser epilation. Health status and the drugs used should be questioned. Applications are started after informing about risks, benefits and expectations.

If there is tan in the sun or in the solarium, a few weeks should be waited for the laser epilation to lighten the skin color enough. Long Pulse NdYag Laser systems, which are safer for patients who want to continue epilation in summer, should be used.

Alexandrite Lazer Epilasyon

For laser epilation to be successful, laser should be done 1-3 days after razor application and 3-4 weeks after wax application.

Laser protective glasses should be used in order not to be exposed to an unwanted problem during the application. Even if the discomfort you feel during the application of the laser is removed with coolers, pain relief can be taken 45 minutes before the application if your pain threshold is low.

The application time depends on the size of the area to be scanned by the laser beam. The smallest area takes 1-2 minutes on the lip, while the largest area lasts 30-45 minutes.

The spot redness that occurs after laser epilation is normal and will disappear in a few hours.

The most common application to overcome the negativities is to apply a moisturizing lotion after a warm shower in the evening.

With the dermatological dressings, moisturizers and sunscreens applied after the application, the results are aimed to be perfect.

It is necessary to avoid physical exercise after epilation. Sweating can cause an increased feeling of restlessness due to the laser.

Depending on your skin type, it is necessary to avoid exposure of laser epilation areas to direct sunlight for 1-2 weeks. The application of SPF 15 and above sunscreen every 2-3 hours will also protect from the harmful rays of the sun.

We do not recommend any method that will radically remove hair in the application area, unless you have to take a long break between applications.

Possible side effects and complications are less than 1%.

Skin darkening (hyperpigmentation): It is a rare condition and is temporary.

Lightening of the skin: This situation can be seen in patients with dark skin. It may occur after using the laser power more than necessary or after the applications on bronze skin. It is temporary but can sometimes last for months.

Water filled bubble and burning: It is very rare and temporary.

Crusting: It is rare and temporary.

Feather structure change: Sometimes new feathers may appear lighter. It is expected to disappear completely in later applications. Especially in face and neck applications, hair should not be treated as quince hair.
